Stop
一時停止（いちじていし）
Meaning
A sign requiring vehicles to come to a complete stop (一時停止) just before the stop line (or, if there is none, just before the intersection). Stop, check that it is safe, then proceed.
Common mistake on the test
Easily confused with 'Slow Down' (徐行, 329). The Stop sign is an inverted triangle marked '止まれ/STOP', and you are required to stop completely.
